Bonsai tokyo. Personal highlights included visits to suzuki kimura omiya the top three japanese gardens and the uncountable number of superb kyoto gardens. The garden is an absolute highlight and should not be missed. The kanto area greater tokyo region is home to the most famous japanese bonsai nurseries while kyoto houses the most impressive japanese gardens and other cultural sites. Nicknamed bonsai nursery the village of omiya is a must for lovers of these small trees.
Located just outside tokyo in saitama city this beautiful area is full of bonsai nurseries and private gardens with many of these potted trees. One of the best places to see bonsai is the omiya bonsai village in saitama just north of tokyo. Some of the nurseries allow walk in visitors and happy to help with any questions. The village is a pleasant neighborhood in omiya a suburb of tokyo that hosts five top bon sai nurseries.
Very friendly staff and great value for 800 yen. It is a working bonsai nursery only about 30 mins from tokyo and full of incredible and beautiful bonsai some hundreds of years old. The village is a collection of bonsai nurseries that relocated there from tokyo after the great kanto earthquake of 1923.
