Flame tree bonsai pruning. The tree grows rapidly up to 5 feet per year and weak branches break easily. The ideal pruning season will vary between tree species but will usually be during the spring and summer when the plant is growing most vigorously. Sterilize the blades with household disinfectant before and after pruning the tree to prevent the spread of plant diseases. Flame trees are propagated from seed.

Trees are naturally heavier in foliage at the top so keep the top of your tree cleanly pruned.
