Over the last 2 3 years one particular species syzygium buxifolium has begun to make an appearance on the european bonsai scene. Flowering brush cherry eugenia myrtifolia brush cherries have a hearty nature which makes them ideally suited for bonsai. They are commonly known as brush cherry as in the garden you will find examples bearing bright red edible cherry like fruit. If it receives enough light the leaves will develop red highlights.
